মুন্সিগঞ্জের গজারিয়ায় ভাটেরচর বাসস্ট্যান্ডে আলী আহমদ মার্কেটে ভয়াবহ অগ্নিকাণ্ডে ৩০টি দোকান পুড়ে ছাই হয়েছে। বৃহস্পতিবার (১৯) দিনগত রাত ৩টার দিকে উপজেলার টেংগারচর ইউনিয়ন ভাটেরচর বাসস্ট্যান্ডে এলাকায় এ অগ্নিকাণ্ডের ঘটনা ঘটে। খবর পেয়ে ফায়ার সার্ভিসের চারটি ইউনিট তিন ঘণ্টার চেষ্টায় আগুন নিয়ন্ত্রণে আনে।
গজারিয়া ফায়ার সার্ভিসের স্টেশন অফিসার রিফাত মল্লিক অগ্নিকাণ্ডর বিষয়টি নিশ্চিত করেছেন। তিনি জানান, বাজারে প্রথমে একটি সেলুনে আগুন লাগে। এরপর আশপাশের মুদিদোকান, ডিমের দোকান, প্লাস্টিক ও হার্ডওয়্যারের দোকান, কাঁচামাল, ফার্মেসিসহ অন্তত ৩০টি দোকানে আগুন ছড়িয়ে পড়ে। তবে কোনো হতাহতের খবর পাওয়া যায়নি।
অগ্নিকাণ্ডের সূত্রপাত ও ক্ষয়ক্ষতির পরিমাণ তদন্তের পর জানা যাবে বলেও জানান ফায়ার সার্ভিসের এ কর্মকর্তা।
